Practically speaking, there are various kinds of warrant documents that are being issued by the concerned court. From a primary perspective, there are three types of warrants that have direct and deep relationships with the legal structure of the United States of America.
The first type is termed as the felony warrant. In this case, the accused person will be arrested on charges of committing felony. A simple example can explain this more clearly. Any act of provocation on a child with sexual intentions comes under the periphery of the felony warrant. Moreover, driving a car under the influence of alcohol, i.e. drunk driving comes under the purview of warrant issued accusing felony. It lasts till the moment when the concerned authoritative body makes an arrest of the person who had been charged with the act of felony. This is a serious public document. This can be viewed from a purely legal perspective or from a social angle and the common mass is allowed to do so. It must be kept in mind that a person can intentionally use the identity of any other person and commit an act of felony in order to entangle the other person in the legal web. The warrant, obviously, will be released to arrest the other person who is actually innocent.
The next type is known as the civil warrant. Several people confuse it with the normal arrest warrants and do not quite know the basic details of it. It is being generally issued at the court dealing with small claims at the moment of filing suit. It is being often used to claim a certain amount of property or for some monetary compensation. It has got a form that needs to be filled up to carry on the further legal proceedings in a smooth manner. The defendant’s name must be given with his or her current address. The related fees for the legal procedures must be cleared. These warrants, in general, are dealt with at the civil courts. Numerous people and organizations use the civil warrant for demanding specific financial sums from the targeted sources.
Another type of warrant is called the alias warrant. It is very essential to have some knowledge about various types of warrants in the federal system. This not only serves to understand the legal structure of the country with more depth but also helps in instances when some friend or relative of yours has been marked with the issuance of a particular type of warrant. In case of the alias warrant, there is no involvement of any sort of plea in any part of the legal case. Such kind of warrant is being issued on your failure to appear at the specific court on a stipulated schedule. Apart from the original case, an additional case for not being absent at the court is filed under the concerned jurisdiction. An alias warrant permits the authority to make an arrest. No doubt, they are the most serious of the warrant types.
